Shawn R. Smith, CPA, CA, Chairman

Shawn is a 3rd generation businessman and grew up working in family businesses.Shawn's quest for knowledge propelled him to make history at Florida State University as the first student to obtain five Bachelor's degrees.He was inspired by regular "Meet the Fortune 500 CEO" talks on campus and was encouraged to learn about various disciplines hence acquiring Bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, International Business and Criminology.After completing university, Shawn acquired business experiences at four Fortune 500 companies, Texaco/ Chevron, Bank of America, Ernst & Young and JP Morgan Chase.It is from these experiences that Shawn became passionate about "performing at international best practices" and coined his signature phrase "measure me by my results".Shawn has personally launched or partnered with others on numerous business enterprises.

Shawn is a Strategist / Negotiation Consultant / Business Consultant / Financial Advisor/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Licensed Chartered Accountant by the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants.He has 20+ years of professional experience in accounting, management and business consulting, focused on helping growing companies achieve results.Shawn is an expert in providing insights, solutions and action plans to achieve an overall strategy or resolution to a conflict.The Solutions Group was formulated by Shawn in 2004 as an opportunity to connect various professional skillsets under one umbrella to help others in Business.


Nekeisha T. Smith, CPA, CA, CIA, Managing Director

Nekeisha joined The Solutions Group in July 2014. Prior to joining The Solutions Group, Nekeisha was a Senior Manager and Local Advisory Services Lead for Ernst & Young Bahamas.Nekeisha spent 14 years with Ernst & Young having been recruited from high school.Nekeisha was one of the first ten persons to complete a BBA in Accounting at The College of The Bahamas, also earning a Distinction award and the Ernst & Young Award as the top Accounting graduate.During her time at Ernst & Young, Nekeisha spent 3 years at Ernst & Young's New York office where she was promoted from Audit Senior to Audit Manager.She returned home in 2006 to help launch the firm's Advisory business where she specialized in Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk, Corporate Governance, Internal Controls and Fraud and worked with clients and other professionals across the Bahamas, Bermuda and Cayman Islands region.


Nekeisha served as the President of the Institute of Internal Auditors - Bahamas chapter (IIA Bahamas) from 2011 to 2015.During her tenure as President, she launched the Global Corporate Governance Forum's (GCGF) Board Leadership Program in The Bahamas through partnership with GCGF Master Trainer Sandra Glasgow of Jamaica.The IIA Bahamas' strategic priority was also re-shaped to 1) promote the importance of internal auditing as it is a vital part of strengthening organizations and protecting stakeholders and 2) support the economic development of The Bahamas through the promotion of a culture of best practices in ethics, corporate governance, risk management and internal controls.Nekeisha's passion for local business development and entrepreneurship was rooted in the Junior Achievement (JA) program while serving as Vice President of Finance and then President of JA companies during high school.She was the recipient of JA's Most Distinguish Achiever Award in 1996.
